The 33rd Jagadguru constructed a small shrine for the Founder - Acharya inside Sri Sharadamba temple complex.  The 34th Jagadguru improved its structure into a small full-fledged temple.  The 35th Jagadguru had a beautiful Vimana erected for the temple.  The present Jagadguru Sri Bharathi Theertha Mahaswamiji replaced the small temple with an awe-inspiring and majestic one and consecrated it in February 2011.  The temple has beautiful carvings and captivating sculptures.  On the outer walls of the temple are 72 granite slabs that speak about the sacred life history of Sri Shankara as also of the recent Acharyas of the Peetam.
