When Sri Adi Shankaracharya established Sri Sharada Peetam,  He fetched a crystal Lingam from Lord Shiva Himself and placed it in the Peetam for daily worship by the pontiff.  The shrine of this millennium old sacred Lingam of Sri Chandramouleeshwara is found within the puja hall at Guru Niwas.  Here, along with the Lord, we can also find Sri Rathnagarbha Ganapathy, Sri Lakshmi Nrisimha, the sacred Shalagrama images of Sri Vishnu, Sri Durga, the images of Sri Shankara and Sri Sharadamba, and the Srichakra.  The deities are worshipped daily by the priest in the morning and by the Jagadguru Himself at night.  To witness this mesmerizing puja of Sri Chandramouleeshwara by the Jagadguru, thousands throng Sringeri.
